Austin is pretty amazing

People here like to drink, dance, and have a good time

If you make it to Austin there are two areas in which you could paint the town. One area is 6th street. This is definitely the college area, with scantilly clad, garish ladies and lots of the college kids - or boys looking for a good time. it definitely felt like a college town in this neck of the woods.

We journeyed further and headed about 4 blocks or so away where the area is know as the “wharehouse district” where the more experienced drinkers are out and about - This was definitely more my speed.

We decided to take a cab into town for the evening. We walked around and talked to locals about where to go for drinks and for dinner

We ended up finding the speakeasy and it had a fantabulous rooftop bar where we could see amazing views of Austin rooftops

We had a drink there then walked back to the Roaring Fork where we had a MAGNIFICENT dinner, AMAZING! I have to say. My colleague and I shared a salad, we each ordered the crab cakes appetizer as our main with sides of spinach and french frites. Everything was delicious. I had ordered an exquisite Shiraz to accompany my meal which was perfect. We decided to share dessert too. So we had a molten chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. Heaven

After that we hit the clubs. We went to SIX, which is apparently owned by Lance Armstrong. This was another club with a rooftop bar. We could see amazing views with a glowing crescent moon and a few stars sparkling overhead. We danced the night away there with a short stint back to 6th street where it felt like a Louisiana carnival. So many people out in the streets hopping from one bar to the next.

We hit Sullivan’s

It was a crazy night, fun, full of good food and drink and a glimpse of the Austin nightlife

So, the battery on my laptop is just about dead, I’ll have more for you later and hopefully some pic’s to share.
