Weekend closing…… tomorrow - a new beginning!

Friday evening’s class was celebratory. I brought in cookies to announce and invite classmates to have a “Kelly’s got a job” cookie. I got lots of congrats and even a small bottle of Champagne from one of my dearest classmates.

Saturday felt really long. Class seemed to just drag. The 10am guest speaker decided not to show up, so we ended up spending more time on rehashing the past case studies we were required to write about.

I was pleasantly surprised when I came home to some flowers and a scrumptious and generous slice of marionberry cheesecake, all from R Thank you. It totally made my evening. It was nice to decompress after the long day. Class didn’t get done until about 5:45 with the last 1/2 hour reviewing the Business Plan Finance piece to the Business Plan Pro software we are using to build our business plan.

One thing I DID get to sketching out was the logo for the business I am creating with my team of two others. I think we’ve got a good plan, I’m pretty excited about it.

So, I showed R my logo sketch and of course the professional designer in him helped me get it looking really good in a graphic program. I’m pretty excited about it, there were two versions he created, see below.

Sunday- The plan was to make a fabulous dinner for the family and with R feeling under the weather I thought to exercise some caution and not infect other family members with his sick. So I got to take advantage of the gorgeous day and get lots of trimming done and sprucing up of the yard.

I worked on the yard for about 6 hours ( hopefully some of that helped burn off the bottle of wine and slice of cheesecake I thoroughly enjoyed Sat. evening).

Tomorrow I start a new job.

So, I’ve got my “first day at work” outfit all decided and I’m truly looking forward to getting my feet immersed in the new job. I already have some ideas to bring to the team for feedback.

We’ll see, I know this will be a week of adjustment, getting up early everyday, dressing nicely everyday, taking mass transit sitting in an office….. to be honest, I cannot wait.
