Home again…Home again

Arrived safely back to gorgeous 48 degree and raining weather in Portland. My allergies cleared instantaneously upon exiting the aircraft. I due believe this is a testament to the air quality in which Portlander’s are blessed with.
It is always a surreal experience to go to Arizona. Finding familiarity in the surroundings that envelope my childhood. This time it was more shocking to see the wide expanse and growth that has occurred in the Phoenix area over the past decade.
Re-affirms that I truly belong where there is green, clean air and live in a culture that values sustainability and the environmental impact we humans are having on our surroundings. I know Az. is slow to jump on the bandwagon but they will be in serious hurt, or at least the people will be if things don’t start progressing there. It just pained me to see the glass and plastic bottles being thrown into the garbage. Ugh.
Well, I appreciate more the efforts in which Portland makes to see that our waste is reduced and conservative efforts are valued and promoted. Thank god!
So, for your viewing pleasure, feel free to take a gander of the photos from my trip. The house in it that is for sale happens to be the house my parents first bought when they moved to Arizona. Funny how my bedroom growing up was pink and it still is, along with the yorkie terrior that lives in the house, since we had a yorkie terrior as well. Amazing. 4 bedrooms and going for $236,000. It was cool that I got to into the house and take a gander, it’s definitely not the same as when I lived there, it seems so incredibly small now.
So in celebration of my return Ryan and I went to Concordia Ale House, which is becoming one of my favorite local places to haunt. I love the Hales Cream Ale (enjoyed 3 pints) and I had the spinach and mushroom quesadilla which was absolutely delicious!
Golly I love Portland! Here’s to cool weather, good food, superb beer and recycling!
