Syanara Strategy, Hello Human Resources and knitting novices….
Sunday, November 18th, 2007 | General
Saturday closed with a final paper in MBA 507, Business Strategy and Competition.
I really appreciated this class, however I did not appreciate the incredible work load.
We experienced the usual hand off with the new professor handing out the syllabus for the next class, which I am intriqued with as it is Human Resources. Unlike the previous class where we had 9 total writing assignments, this class has only 5. It’s a breath of fresh air.
I was the only student who decided to finish the final in class that evening when we had until 1pm on Sunday to turn it in. I am of the mindset that when given a project and specific deadline, the sooner it is done the sooner I can relax about it.
So, there I sat in an empty classroom, pounding out my best rendition for strategy in a unique and challenging case our professor presented to us. Of course after turning in my final, I engaged in numerous alternative scenarios in my head that would have made far more sense for the case. But, what has been done is done. I have to let it go. I feel good in how I performed in this class thus far, therefore, an imperfect score is relatively livable at this point in time.
So in closing the Saturday, we finally decided to run to Bob’s Rocket for pizza and Beaumont market for some good beer. It was a great closing to a week wrought with a series of emotional ups/ highs and downs/ lows.
Sunday, sweet Katrina came and taught me and my pals to knit! Yes it was a “stitch-n-bitch”, it was fun too. She was an excellent teacher, we learned so much and she even brought homemade pumpkin pie with a homemade gingerbread crust! Yummy.
So I’ve cast on.. oh about 20 times, still have yet to make a real..well anything remotely looking like something knitted. I’ll keep practicing. luckily she lives close so I can drop by to tap into her wealth of knitting knowledge when I need it!
Tomorrow I wrap up the internship and take the day as it presents itself, which I think is some cleaning, an oil change for the car, reading, picking up the HR Textbooks and possibly some R&R time.
Sweet!
