Fall is for running

fall-runner.jpgI was so proud to break out my running shoes and hit the pavement this past week. Monday was a gorgeous first day of October. I love the crisp cool air with the sun bright and warming. It’s the perfect day to see the wind swept leaves delicately splashed over the pavement. I also love to run through my neighborhood and see who is readily embracing the spooktacular fun of Halloween.

I love to see pumpkins scattered along the walkways up to people’s front doors and any decorations that encapture the spirit of fall and of Halloween.

It was a great way to get some exercise and embrace the season’s celebrations that lie ahead. I still wonder at how it came to be October already, but its just a testament to the need to relish each day in it’s opportunity and gifts.

king.jpgWhile receiving two more job rejections this week, I still had some adventures to keep me inspired and one was seeing Camelot with GD’s wife on Tues. Oct. 2nd. It was a lot of fun. First I had a horrendous drive into town which cut into some good cocktail time, but I made up for it when I got to where we were meeting for dinner/ drinks- Veritable Quandary- love this place! Oh yea, straight up dirty martini with three olives. It totally made the evening. Followed by a nice red wine accompanied by a salad with hazelnuts and goat cheese crostini and a delicious leek soup. Divine. They always get it right. Mrs. GD had scallops, mmmm yeah! Thanks to Mrs. GD getting there earlier than me, she landed us a table in the Lounge. Apparently the entire back section was reserved. Crazy. I had no idea it would be so busy on a Tuesday.

Hurriedly we trotted to Keller to witness Lou Diamond Phillips perform as King Arthur in Camelot. I would be remiss in not mentioning how a few “Spamelot” references came to mind during the show. “Knights of the Round table” for one and then disco Lancelot for two. He could’ve really convinced me with this Lancelot’s particular silvery shiny garb and french accent. Ah, but what a love story. I completely forgot how it really is all about the lady. Miss Guenevere. I thought there was a story about Sir Gawain, the green knight, that tricked Guenevere into adultery with Lancelot, but no Green Knight in this story. I will have to re-read.

The evening was delightful.
In fact, I had S&C, my friends who I visited in NY on my mind as their baby was practically due any moment! So I texted them earlier that day and low and behold at Intermission, I got a text back, with a picture of a gorgeous baby! I was thrilled for them! What an amazing day and no wonder I had them in my thoughts, she labored for like 30 hours before her c-section, god bless her and the new little one and papa! I cannot even imagine what life is like for them right now, but I know they had been waiting in most anxiousness for this day and now it is here!

Congratulations you two! :)
