What happened to August.

So I venture to the other side of the U.S. tomorrow to spend time with S&C before their Time Bandit decides the world is okay enough to begin embarkment. If I were him I certainly would be scared too, in fact I might have been scared, but just don’t remember. I’m scared as hell now just even imagining having a child let alone being one, although, the first few years are pretty cool. You get to eat and sleep and have someone change your nappies, I mean talk about being lazy, that’s when it’s real.
So, yes, leaving on a Jet plane, I know I’ll be back Monday, but already the stress of what is to come is hindering over me like a cloud.
I was proud to get the next paper that is due in on the 1st turned in this evening so as not keep worrying about it while trying to enjoy vacation with friends in NJ/ NY. In fact we got home at a good time, albeit sacrificing extra time with Travis & Nick and Henry and the wonderful family to celebrate Travis’s 30th! Hah, had to announce. 
Yep, the big 30. Had delicious, delicous food, as mom always cooks up a tasty feast and with 4 desserts to choose from, I know I put on at least 5 extra lbs today. Not surprised.
Anyway today though, an unexpected call came they left a message as I was at my internship and it was to set up a time for a preliminary phone screening/ interview for a local company. I was immediately thrilled, since the call for the phone interview occured just a few hours after I submitted my resume through their online application process. It felt good, I couldn’t pass it up, so I went ahead and scheduled the phone interview for 2:00pm Portland time, 5:00pm NJ time for Thursday, so they’ll call me on my cell, I just need to make sure to take a mental note that day to be in a neutral spot with wireless so I can start the ball rolling on a potential job.
So, at least after that, I’ll hopefully be able to really breathe and relish the rest of the time with my dear friends, relaxing enjoying the brief moments before parenthood for them and possibly some time for me to take advantage and see some fantastic sites at MOMA, Metropolitan & Guggenheim. We shall see.
Another reason this is a must savour moment for me is I will be doubling up on MBA classes this fall. I will have MBA 511 on top of MBA 507 and MBA 508. To clarify, MBA 511 runs every one weekend during the entire fall semester. So each 2nd weekend of the month I will be going to MBA 511. Then every 3rd weekend of Sept & Oct I will have MBA 507, then Nov & Dec. MBA 508. I Also have an MBA Seminar to attend the first weekend of October, thus I will have classes the first three weekends of October! YIKES!
The rumor mill is stating that these classes are just as tough and demanding if not more so than my last two classes. This does not make me happy. It means a potential doubling of homework duties, nevermind a potential job that could get me back to full time expectations and the learning curve of the new job will be enormous, tacking onto the MBA classes…. Oh boy the stress is kicking in, I can feel it.
So, I’ve had to make some compromises and cancel some plans, because if I have to add one more thing to my plate I might just pass out and Ryan will have to make sure I am not devoured by kitty.
First thing, first. I have my boarding pass printed ready to go and laptop charged with extra battery, plane leaves around 1pm. I’ll be set and ready for the adventure ahead. Till then.
