Time a vacuum

vacuum-cleaner-diagram.jpgWhere does the time go. I think it just gets all sucked into a vacuum and dispensed in some alternate universe or something.

There have been far too many nights where the time gets all vacuumed up and before I knew it it was 3:00 AM in the morning. HOW THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN! What’s worse is that I have awoken at about the 3am time after a few good hours of sleep to find Ryan still up and playing on his computer and I am demanding to know “what are you doing? Do you know what time it is? “. So now I am the victim of this time vacuum and now I can no longer give Ryan, what he calls, “GUFF” about being up late. It’s the damn vacuum that sucks up all the time while one is happily playing and surfing on the computer.

Thus my mornings have been slow and unproductive. This one (today) for example and now it’s almost 8pm and I’m wondering…where in the world the day went. It’s amazing how an unstructured day, only breeds a feeling of time completely wasted. Even typing one e-mail or sending a cover letter and application to a specific job can eat up 2 hours. How does that happen. I know on vacation time is sucked doubly fast into and through the vacuum, but that’s mainly because you are filling your day with fun activities and you never want the fun to end, but it ultimately does.

So, in reflecting on the weekend, I can only say how HAPPY I am that MBA 506 is over, now we are in MBA 505 which is E-Business. We are first going to be reading about Blockbuster and the age of their transformation with the introduction of the most significant advancement in movie rental history, their largest competitor Netflix. It’ll be interesting.

Of course, this professor, has a completely different expectation of how papers should be written than the last two professors, hence a crash course will be the first paper to see how they grade and what their expectations are. He is also very spiritual, which is great, but requires our papers to be turned in Saturday by midnight so that we are assured of spiritual and family time on Sunday. While I honor and respect that, it just means cramming most likely Friday and Saturday to get the papers in. UGH! At least there is no outside research required with his papers, he barely even wants us to quote any of the material. Yes, a whole new approach to the papers. Joy.
