Ah Sweet Clarity…if only for a moment

I was in grief anticipation for Friday’s career related adventures, unfortunately they only left me in anquish and doubt.
The two informational interviews were at a non-profit I would love to work for one day, however, that day is not now.
The first interview was with two reps. regarding a part time position. $8.75 an hour, maybe 20 hours a week until June 2008. - NOPE
The second interview was with two reps. regarding a potential internship, for them it was work they needed to have done in their department on an ad-hoc basis. No structure, no project ownership, nope… I am not free labor. I would be happy to volunteer doing such work, however, it will not fly as an internship.
Ah, but dinner with J&J was delightful, we had delicious food at The Goose and then stopped in to meet their new addition to the family, Tiki. What an adorable guy. I haven’t downloaded the pic’s from my camera, but here is one that I found online that was perfect and just for “awe’s” sake.
Saturday - Invited to two baby celebrations today. One for my sis-in-law and one for our friend “H”. I had already promised “H” that Ryan and I would be at their baby celebrationit was co-ed and I knew of that celebration before I knew of my sis-in-laws. I hope to make it up to my sis-in-law by having her, T and a few friends and family over to celebrate her. Also, so I can give her her “shower” gift.
Saturday Eve - Celebrated at Rose & Thistle with GD and friends, good time, got some yummy bath & body treats from GD & Spouse for my birthday. GD- Your wife ROCKS! I always get the best of stuff from her!! THANK YOU!
Sunday - More Paper fun writing today. At least this one wasn’t nearly as absolutely horrible as the last one. Jeez, just 2 more papers to go for the class. I’ll be in heaven when this is over.
TODAY - Ah, my moment of clarity! It was wonderful.
1) I had an interview for a Program Management position at a non-profit that requires volunteers to read in local schools. How awesome is that. However this job managed the coordinators at the schools located in Washington County. Not really where I see myself and the interviewee was wonderful, she understood and recognized my issue with that and informed me of a potential “state” program management position. I’m thrilled at that potential project. We’ll see. They still don’t have the job description for that one yet.
2) Cannot believe it has been about 3 months since I’ve been outta work, no wonder I’m feeling a bit whalelike. My running routine has gone down the drain and I’m feeling it too. So today I got on that treadmill and ran for an hour- 6 miles. I’m feeling that! But it’s good. I gotta try to keep that up again, at this age, I know I’m doomed to start gaining those post 30 pounds. Urgh.
3) Met the Dean of Management over the phone, as it happened her brand new Volks Passat had electrical issues and completely shut down, nothing, so she had to have it towed. Poor lady and therefore missed our 1:1 meeting, but regardless we connected later by phone and she is going to look at a possible internship at my school in their Foundation/Development office. I’m THRILLED! So I sent her my resume and she’s going to try to get me a meeting with the directors there. YES! The moment of clarity has arrived. I can realize a goal to have an internship that would help me fulfill MBA elective credits while exposing me to the world of non-profit funding development models, which I’m keen to learn.
So, by 10pm, I got this paper turned in and here I am decompressing from the week, weekend and today.
Tomorrow- Another 6 mile stint on treadmill, meeting with counselor then Wild Abandon for Dinner, sounds like a great day to me!

Glad you could make it to the R&T with us. Always great to see you and R.
Hey - I’m living proof that ‘post-30′ pounds can be lost. Better not to gain them if you can help it, of course, but it can be done.
Of course wouldn’t miss it.
Yeah, the only thing is I am certainly no match to your extensive activity, with your time at the gym on the mountain and then on the field.. holy cow you are a walking metabolic entity with no chance of any fat accumulation!
Keep on!

Hehe…it only sounds like a lot because it’s all I really blog about.
I’ve totally slacked off so far this week, though. Except for 4 matches of Wii Tennis and probably 60 pitches worth of Wii Baseball home-run-hitting last night. ![]()
NICE! Hey that burns some serious calories I bet!
