Wow! I am free….. so what do I think of.. but the “Flight of the bumble bee…

Who would have thought that Leitmotifs “Flight of the bumble bee” would be so indicative of all uncertainty that lies around me at this very moment. I am buzzing around trying to find a place to land and it’s really quite challenging as the rocky foot ahead doesn’t provide for a prime landing spot. It’s all so very symbolic at this point.
Leaving my place of work was a bitter sweet ceremony. Having received a most genuine card and gift from my colleagues and then being celebrated at a nice II steering committee dinner, with the presentation of a nicely created scrapbook with pictures of me and colleagues and volunteers really made the day. I couldn’t appreciate more the experience or journey that I have had and am lucky to have crossed paths with such amazing individuals. It’s been quite a process and the last week has sort of been more like torture with knowing this day was ahead. But now it’s all done, over and here I am on my New MACBOOK, appreciating every ounce of realized freedom I can muster. Which is hard. I still feel connected and accountable to the things I once managed, owned and directed. Letting go can be one of the hardest parts to this process.
But I HAVE had an amazing week.
Wednesday - Dentist Appt. Kept me from having to battle the traffic after the slide happened over HWY 26. Thank you Linda MOM for calling me and informing me of this. I could have ended up in traffic for who knows how long.
Thursday - Met with representative from SMART - Start Making a Reader Today - non- profit that manages volunteers that read to kids from Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Some of these kids have no support at home and don’t have a positive influence for developing reading skills. It’s an amazing program and I applied for a position there. We’ll see how it goes.
Friday - Met with representative from The Entrenprenuer’s Foundation. The person I know there is leaving. I’m defintely interested in this opportunity. Only one other employee. It’s a non-profit and it sounds like a great challenge. Most of all they are located downtown!
Then had a fune wine & Cheese class at Square Deal with M & L. Had a great time. After that went to Pix. Where I devoured an delicious warm goat cheese salad and divulged in a most exquisite creme brulee. To die for! Then finished up the evening at our house. Enjoyinga nice Six Grapes Port. Delicious.
Saturday - Shopping Day with Girlfriends. Picked up my dear friends, then to Cup & Saucer for a delicious lunch. We shared quiches. Yum! Then shopped, shopped & shopped. Red Light, Buffalo Exchange, Gold Door, Naked City, Greg’s and visite Miranda!
Sorel’s. With the rain it felt like coffee time. Stopped in at Pete’s and I had a cappuccino. DELICIOUS!
Continued to shop until close to 5 where the plan was to meet the boys and the kids at Laurelwood.
Ry and I then walked over to Moon, where we connected about the day. Enjoyed Rarebit and crabcakes and went home to almost call it a day. It was a great day. Wonderful to connect with my girlfriends and the boys and spend some time with A’s boy and girl.
Sunday - Most delicious breakfast with Ryan at Cup & Saucer. (Yup, only because it was so good on Saturday I had to go again on Sunday)I had my favorite… blueberry pancakes with garden sausage (a real plus) and Ryan had the breakfast burrito, covered in as many hot sauces as he could get his hands on. Mmmmmm delicious. I think we talked about breakfast for the rest of the day.
We watched The Departed and CHildren of Men that evening. Quite the full day. At least today - Monday , this last day of what I once knew better then the palm of my hand is now over and new beginnings await. I’m so lucky.

Awesome week, and good luck on your applications!
I wish I’d known exactly which day was your last @ CompuHyperGlobalMegaNet. I’d have at least dropped by. Some friend I am for not asking. ![]()
Oh my gosh don’t even worry about it. It was just a weird day and I took our intern out to lunch then had a long passdown meeting with a colleague and left just after 3pm to visit Ryan’s grandma. Who knows if I would have been there.
It’s so strange, the whole not going out to Intel anymore, wonderful for sure, but certainly strange.
