Calling in for a “sick day” more like “weekend”….

Testament to the amount of work and stress R & I have experienced has now manifested to a full fledge cold! Joy upon Joy. R has been working late nights on a new product for his work. I, well… work week re-cap:
- Monday - No meetings - a pretty productive day
- Tuesday - Evening dinner event with a co-worker- spent with an aspiring group of undergrads from Concordia University, Sophomores, Jr’s & Sr.’s who wanted to talk about careers at my mego company - Interesting and inspiring to see what our future workforce holds, I don’t think I was that motivated at 22.
- Wed. - Met with the President and Vice President of KAFU - Kazak Free American University - Yes from Kazakhstan, had to forget Borat ever existed. Interesting discussion my mego company gave them a donation for volunteer efforts of a retiree, so it was interesting, we had a translator and everything. Very nice, genuine people.
- Thurs - Awoke at 5:45am for a delightful global meeting with my mego company global counterparts, exhausted by the end. This is the day, Ryan started feeling the inklings of the cold coming on. Not a good sign. We still went to celebrate our dear friend’s S’s Birthday at Zaytoon’s on Alberta, which I’ve never been and always wanted to go and here was the chance. We just had drinks and left early to get home to start the cold recovery process. S left with more Squirrel stuff then anyone could imagine. Very fun and inventive gifts saw there.
- Friday- Here it is the sore throat.. uh oh.. still I had signed up to volunteer at the 105.1 Buzz’s Fundraiser for Children’s Cancer Association. I was a ‘Phone Angel’ as they called us collecting phone pledges for the cause. It was really high energy and bly the end suffered writers cramp but totally worth it. I collected up to $5,000 in donations. In fact it was co-worker that organized this for us and after our shift was done they were up to $300,000 in raised funds. WOnderfully rewarding experience. But exhausting , so went to store to stock up on all cold fighting remedies, Zicam, Airborn, OJ, Echinacea.. you get the picture.
Since then it’s been a mighty battle and I had to cancel breakfast at Helsers with a new friend I was so diaspointed so hopefully she won’t think I’m a flake and will re-schedule with me.
Still homework won’t cease for a sick day, due date still lurking and I’m just about done with my 12 page paper, just need to finish the final statements in my last question. Thanks goodness for Sudafed.
Oh and Guinness gets his little operation tomorrow- actually more like BIG operation, his manhood will be gone and hopefully with that some of his defiance and aggression, although about 10% of the time he is mighty sweet!
Happy Health to you all!
