Reflecting on an intense week and “babies.. they are everywhere”

darfur.jpgSo, yes my biological clock is a ticking, but the reality of the season hits home when one is hearing announcement upon announcement of either a pregnancy or birth, or even “we’re trying”.. and you are invited to your friend’s childrens (plural) birthday parties. I love parties, I mean who doesn’t, especially when the honored individual gets an entire cake to themselves and goes to town using only his natural utensils, fingers and palms, and you realize you are the only 30 year old there that has no kids. But, I do have a Kitty kat which is pretty much our kid.

What a week….Two of my dear friends had to say good bye to their dearest long loved cats, they had good lives and unfortunately, the time had come to say goodbye. My sincerest lamentations to them both.

I watched an incredibly emotional photo documentary provided by a Doctors without Borders Representative that came to visit my work. It was about the humanitarian atrocities happening in Darfur, Africa. Even the UN reps. lives are being threatened and women relief workers are being raped. Therefore, they have pushed all humanitarian relief workers out of the country. It’s just not safe for anyone. How truly aweful. The Darfur situation is measured to be as bad as the Rwandan genocide of ‘94. Which made me think of WACIA, Jo’s, our friends from England non-profit they created to help Women and Children in Africa. Truly incredible to see and hear about the dissolvement of the humane existance in Africa. I can’t get too deep into how currpted governments have created this, but it only makes me realize how precious life is, how much we have to be thankful for and how lucky we are.

So, with that it was good to have down time with R. I had a nice walk to Rose & Thistle Friday evening. Sat. worked on school then awakened that biological clock at our friends 2nd child’s 1st birthday. Babies everywhere. No surprise but I even dreamt about babies Saturday night. They were crawling all over, even above our kitchen cabinets, and when I had put one baby down I picked it up again only to discover it was a different baby. Yikes! Yeah , I don’t know what it means, I don’t want to know. I was just relieved to have kitty nuzzling my face at 7am in the morning versus a tired hungry baby. Believe me I don’t know how moms do it. I admire motherhood and fear it greatly at the same time.

Sunday, Gloriously finished Snapple case study due for school. On to Cumberland Industries for the next paper due in a week. Sweet school bliss, Yes I still have at least 5 years to conceive so phew!

First R uses “inexpensive” in the same sentence as “Ruth’s Chris Steak House”, and now you use “bliss” and “school” in the same sentence. Who ARE you people and what did you do with R & K?? :)
